Ingress/Egress Projects

What is Ingress/Egress?

Ingress and Egress refer to the safe and efficient movement of people, vehicles, and equipment into and out of a property, facility, or worksite. Maintaining clear, accessible, and properly designated access and exit routes is essential for operational efficiency, traffic management, and overall safety.

Proper Ingress and Egress also support emergency response efforts, facilitate evacuation when necessary, and help ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and site requirements. Prioritizing these pathways helps prevent congestion, reduce hazards, and create a safer, more organized environment for everyone.

What do Ingress/Egress projects look like?

Typically, projects include vegetation clearance extending up to 20 feet from the roadside edge or to the fence line, whichever is closer to the road. This work includes removing brush and small trees up to 10 inches in diameter, measured 4.5 feet above ground level, as well as trimming or removing branches that overhang the roadway. These efforts are intended to maintain a minimum of 10 feet of overhead clearance to accommodate fire engines and support safe emergency access.
